Spiritual gifts, while wonderful in many ways, can present challenges. For one thing, they are often viewed by much of the world as weird.<\/p>\n

Have you ever received a gift and thought, \u201cOkay, that\u2019s interesting, but is there a receipt? Can I trade it in for something I would actually like or maybe even use?\u201d Imagine getting the gift of becoming a psychic and a medium pretty much overnight, which is precisely what happened to me at the age of thirty. My response was, \u201cAre you kidding me? I don\u2019t want it! Take it back! I\u2019m not doing anything with this. I will not be the crazy lady everyone talks about.\u201d<\/p>\n

Well, let\u2019s just say that the universe has other plans. There was no receipt, no trade-in policy, and they never did take it back\u2014even with my 3 years of resistance.<\/p>\n

Spiritual gifts, while wonderful in many ways, can present challenges. For one thing, they are often not talked about and, therefore, viewed by much of the world as weird, strange, or even not real. For another, to truly embrace them and use them to be in service for others requires vulnerability and the willingness to be as different as you know you are but have likely been pretending you are not.<\/p>\n

Be Honest with Yourself<\/h4>\n

Before you can let your light shine brightly, you have to be honest with yourself about the gifts that you have. Acknowledging that you can talk to ghosts or perceive pain in people\u2019s bodies, revive dying plants, etc., is likely not something you go around talking about. That is okay. At the same time, if you wish to have the joy of living and a contribution to others, you do need to tell yourself the truth about your gifts. Sounds easy, right? It may sound easy, but it often requires a bit of courage. It is not hubris to embrace your gifts. On the contrary, it requires humility and vulnerability.<\/p>\n

Give Yourself Permission to be as Different as You Are<\/h4>\n

I am not exactly sure what I was waiting for with regard to finding peace with my psychic abilities. There was a bit of trepidation about what others would think, for sure. My name is Venus. I am 6 feet tall. I was used to standing out and being different. But, for the 3 years after my first spirit encounter, I wasn\u2019t willing to be that different.<\/p>\n

My refusal to give myself permission to embrace my gifts was costing me. I began keeping my mom, to whom I had always been very close, at a distance. I was not living with a sense of relaxation. When you embrace your gifts, you flow with the synchronicity and harmony of the Universe, and the entire planet is elevated to a higher place.<\/p>\n
